Hoodoo Butte is a 5700' (1737 m) volcanic cinder cone located on the crest of the Cascade Range in central Oregon.

On your map, it's about 2.5 miles southwest of Santiam Pass (Highway US 20, milepost 81), and about 1.5 miles west of the Pacific Crest Trail. For the GPS-inclined, that's about 44.402 N, 121.882 W (WGS84 datum).

Weather forecasts for the Northern Oregon Cascades - Santiam Pass area and other zones are provided by the National Weather Service office in Portland, OR.

Notes:
2008 03/22 - Need a stronger filter to remove voltage spikes from barometer's pressure & temperature channels.
2008 06/30 - Snow depth gauge ran out of snow.
2008 08/09 - Repaired lightning damage to wind speed sensor's signal conditioning electronics. Replaced an IC that looks like it got "sunburned".
2008 08/09 - Added a "Static Burst" data channel in an attempt to have a measure of local lightning activity. This may take some fiddling to get it to work. The frequency the radio is tuned to may come-and-go with band conditions, so we may be counting things other than lightning.
2008 08/15 20:01 - Changed static burst radio to listen to low end of FM band (~87 MHz).
2008 08/15 - Added moon phase in "light level" section
